[Article]: The Virgen de la Concha Hospital, located in Zamora, Spain, will feature the state-of-the-art Da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery system starting in January 2025. According to Cadena SER, this technological advancement will open new possibilities in general, urological, and gynecological surgeries, enabling healthcare professionals to perform interventions with greater precision and less invasiveness for patients.
According to Jesús García from ABEX Excelencia Robótica, the company responsible for developing the Da Vinci Robot, this tool will enable minimally invasive surgeries. Surgeons will have access to more information during procedures, increasing the effectiveness of operations and reducing risks for patients.
Moreover, the Da Vinci Robot promises to significantly improve waiting times. Based on results observed in other hospitals already using this technology, it is estimated that up to 300 operations could be performed annually, helping to reduce the current waiting lists at Virgen de la Concha Hospital.
This development marks an important milestone for medicine in the region, promising not only advancements in the quality of care but also in the patient experience, providing access to more modern and effective treatments.
